This is some photography of a doodle I made on a rock during the summer:
I am one! Ha ha!
Aficionado: A person who is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about an activity, subject, or pastime.
In other words, a nerd. This is the nerd word for nerds.
Last night at 2am I had a sudden epiphany; ‘aficionado’ sounds like ‘a fishy on auto’! I was immediately inspired and drew this sketch:
And thus became a masterpiece of genius inspiration from the cursed tablet.
I also want to share variations of this picture that I created by deleting layers (I did this in Photoshop) etc. because I find that each of them is visually appealing in their own way.
So I have decided it is my duty to post an art post after neglecting to do so for quite some time. These are just some pictures I took of non-digital drawings.
Ok so the last image I’m posting wasn’t originally going to un-earth to the light of the internet but it has a story to go along with it so I figure “Why not?”.
This is QUAIL MAN, the new superhero of the century! With a puff out of his feathery chest and a bellowing “Qu-ooo-ooo” Quail man runs into danger to save the day! No literally, he runs into it.
So I went to a youth rally this year with a group of friends. We had to sign up for teams so, naturally, we all signed up to be on the same one. One of the ongoing activities for the weekend was a “scavenger hunt”. Note the quotation marks. Instead of finding items, we had to act out things for staff members around the campus and were awarded points for originality. There are so many neat things we did and it would take forever to type, so I shall just tell you about Quail Man. One of the items on this list we were given was to dress up one group member as a selected super hero; Quail Man. WIthout skipping a beat, my dear friend Bob volunteered. His costume was complete with ponytail and paper bib with a “Q” drawn on it as shown above. We then proceeded to create a huge dramatic introduction where after her unzipped his sweater that was hiding the “Q” and bellowed his signature call; “Qu-oo-ooo”. We then reenacted a scene where Quail man saved a damsel who was tied to a trail tack by running into the trail. Needless to say, we won the scavenger hunt challenge. .. and we are very dramatic people.
Seeming as I still cannot show my animation (and don’t think I ever will) I just drew a collage of figures in the style I like to call “Star”. From the picture you can tell the obvious reason of why I call this style such.
These guys are fun and fast to make. They are like a one-up from stick figures.
I am finding I don’t have much more to say about these, so lets move to “manganese”. Yes, manganese is an element on the periodic table. Yes, it sounds like manga but not quite so. This completely describes this style in my opinion; nerdy, close to manga, and best when drawn during chemistry class ;P.
This isn’t the best example, but it was what I could fit easily on my DSi screen.
At last I have come to blog with my art. No, I did not go buy a tablet/ tablet computer as I planned. This is because I discovered I didn’t have to! I found a way to use my Nintendo DSi as a tablet. ^_^. Huzzah for saving $200!
Anywho, today I decided I will show you the drawing style I call “Ariel” (for various reasons). This is the first time I have drawn digitally so please, bear with me ;P. I had originally planned on posting various styles but my little netbook “Harold” (who will be replaced later today actually OH YEAH) is quite gay and won’t read the images/videos off the SD card. Note to you out there: Netbooks are not worth it, even if they are cheap. And Acers are pretty bad as well.
So here is the image I call “Guy” out of uncreativeness at 1am:
I would’ve colored the whole thing but Harold was against that as well -_-.
Soon I shall post about the other defined styles I draw (the undefined ones happen on a whim so…)
