This summer my family and I entered a family sandcastle competition. Although we didn’t win, it was a lot of fun.
Here are some pictures of the snake I built:
This is a drawing I created absentmindedly doodling in my notebook recently. I started out with a simple pencil sketch of the wolf, the proceeded to add the strokes and wisps surrounding it. I finally finished with the eye with it’s inscription.
I don’t normally like explaining the metaphors behind my art to it’s audience. This is because I like the audience to be able to interpret it themselves and see what it means personally to them. I encourage you, dear reader, to do any interpreting you wish before reading the next section then, for I will explain this drawing’s significance.
This drawing was created when I was day dreaming about a recent encounter with a close friend of mine, who I have not talked with in over a year. After talking with them for some time I came to realize just how similar we had become and just how much I could relate and understand what they said. I then came to think about my own inner demons with whom I have been at a constant battle with throughout this year with now hope in finding someone to aid in my combat. I had lost my faith in humanity, even in my friends, and I no longer could trust my heart to have faith lie in an outside source. After my talk with this friend, however, I saw the long lost, very faint spark of hope flicker in the depths of my mind. Maybe I had found someone who could help guide my path. This drawing shows a demon surrounded in shadow; an inner demon surrounded with an aura of misery and anger. It lashes at the soul, but really, this demon is part of the full soul but was transformed by anguish and misery. The demon calls to this mysterious eye for saving. It wishes to become whole once more as no longer a demon but a true, full soul. It sees this eye, takes faith, and reaches out to it.
I am one! Ha ha!
Aficionado: A person who is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about an activity, subject, or pastime.
In other words, a nerd. This is the nerd word for nerds.
Last night at 2am I had a sudden epiphany; ‘aficionado’ sounds like ‘a fishy on auto’! I was immediately inspired and drew this sketch:
And thus became a masterpiece of genius inspiration from the cursed tablet.
I also want to share variations of this picture that I created by deleting layers (I did this in Photoshop) etc. because I find that each of them is visually appealing in their own way.
