If you have Facebook, have you ever done a note? Or used your note application? Well, if you havent or you don’t have Facebook, notes are pretty much text documents that lay around on your profile. Most people do silly surveys on them, some people write stories, etc. Because I love notes, I read my friends’ notes all the time. Today I was looking over my friend Jake’s profile and found a bunch of poetry/lyrics and quotes, and it got me thinking. A bunch of these are from his notes, and a lot of them aren’t labelled so I give credit to him (so please also respect he may have written some). I hope you like this collection of quotes!
You can spend minutes, hours, days, weeks, or even months, over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could have, would have happened… or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move on.
The sweet things are easy to buy, but one sweet heart is difficult to find. Life stops when you stop hoping. Hope stops when you stop believing. Love stops when you stop caring. Friendship stops when you stop sharing. So please share this idea with the ones who you consider friends. To love without conditions. To give without reasons. And to take care without thankness.
How is one to live a moral and compassionate existence when one is fully aware of the blood, the horror inherent in life, when one finds darkness not only in one’s culture but within oneself? If there is a stage at which an individual life becomes truly adult, it must be when one grasps the irony in its unfolding and accepts responsibility for a life lived in the midst of such paradox. One must live in the middle of contradiction, because if all contradiction were eliminated at once life would collapse. There are simply no answers to some of the great pressing questions. You continue to live them out, making your life a worthy expression of leaning into the light.
The unlucky are nothing more than a frame of reference for the lucky. You are unlucky, so I may know that I am. Unfortunately the lucky never realizes they are lucky until it’s too late. Take yourself for instance; yesterday you were better off than you are off today but it took today for you to realize it. But today has arrived and it’s too late. You see? People are never happy with what they have. They want what they had, or what others have. The grass is always greener on the other side.
Remember and you might be welcomed
Amongst the heartless monsters you surround yourself with
Feeding off the pain and misfortune of others
A maniacal unit of sub-human parasites
Blurred into a feeding frenzy at the smell of fresh blood
Open your eyes and see the creatures for what they are
A swirling mass of hatred and envy
Don’t be naive enough to think you’re unaffected
The conversion has already begun…
“Friendship is a two-way thing. You both have to put in an effort” – J. Penny
“Don’t be afraid to talk about anything. You shouldn’t be afraid of reality.”
“Never deprive someone of hope; it may be all they have.”
“I think its cool that you aren’t just an easy-going person. It means you care enough about something in your life.”
Do or die, no reply, don’t deny that you’re synthetic.
Restless Heart Syndrome
I’ve got a really bad disease
It’s got me begging
On my hands and knees
So take me to emergency
’cause something seems to be missing
Somebody take the pain away
It’s like an ulcer bleeding in my brain
So send me to the pharmacy
So i can lose my memory
Lord knows i tried to find a way to run away
So what ails you is what impales you
I feel like i’ve been crucified to be satisfied
I’m a victim of my symptom
I am my own worst enemy
You’re a victim of your symptom
You are your own worst enemy
Know your enemy
Now I cannot speak, I’ve lost my voice.
I’m speechless and redundant.
‘Cause I love you’s not enough.
I’m lost for words
Words are only words; they can never truly express or fix. Remember that actions speak louder than words. Sometimes it’s not enough to sit around and speak; go out and act.
Although a bunch of these quotes are dark, I think its healthy to read things like this once in a while to make you think and analyse you and your life. Its never a bad thing to question things around you and see your own flaws; it’s the only way to improve.
