I have finally finished reading FireStarter by Stephen King. As my previous post states, I read this to see whether King’s books were as “terrible” (not poorly written) as people have expected. It’s true he has written many horror books, like Cujo, but that isn’t his limit. FireStarter in my opinion was NOT a horror book, but an adventure book with a mix of tragic events. But I won’t say it was a tragedy, because the end makes you smile.
Sure you may think, “Oh she said it has a bunch of tragic events… people are right. I think I still won’;t read King’s books…”, but these tragic events are a necessary component to any book. I’m sure you can agree that if the story had no tragedy you would be able to predict the ending of the book and have no suspense to make you want to read onward. Reading would be dull and predictable!
As my title states, yes I do approve of King’s book. I’m not a to-die-for-his-stuff fan now, no, but I do appreciate the book he wrote for my entertainment….. And thankfully now the library is aware they need to replace the copy of FireStarter as well because when I took it out it was disintegrating. 😛
Hope you, dearest readers, care to go and try one of his books now. But beware, I’m told Cujo is an extreme horror.
